Puzzle Project presents….Golden Impact – 08/06/2007
So we’re coming to the end of our second year, and what fun has been had by all. This next party is going to be no different, as we bring you another awesome line-up fit for any main room in the country, in the intimate surroundings of the infamous 414 (just as we like it!!). And what better way to make way for our second birthday in September than to bring you what we believe to be one of the strongest (if not the absolute strongest) line-ups ever seen at the venue….
The first of this months headliners really needs no introduction at all; but out of sheer respect, he’s going to get one anyway…
There aren’t many people who can lay claim to getting thousands, if not tens of thousands of people into dance music and clubbing. In fact, you can count them on one hand. The first person on that list for most of us though, especially in London, is Peach resident and promoter, Graham Gold! We won’t rattle on about his storming weekly sets at Peach back at Camden Palace (now Koko) but we will give a mention to the fact that this living legend has been extremely busy in the studio using his all round dance music knowledge and experience to create some exciting new tracks which we’re hoping he’ll unleash on us at 414.
Steve Blake is one DJ/producer who we owe a massive dose of gratitude to. He is up there with the likes of Phil Reynolds and K90 as being one of the original UK Hard Trance godfathers. Having played a massive part in shaping the scene with classic tracks such as “I Get a Rush” and running one of the all time greatest hard dance labels, Impact.
Steve Smith (or “Smiffy” to those close to him… awww!) is relatively new to the circuit as a DJ, but has a huge amount to offer in terms of passion for the music, enthusiasm, and skill. Prepare yourself to witness a new era in the London trance scene, as we invite one of the most talented new boys to come and reinvent the way trance trousers are worn before our very eyes…
And the residents…
After receiving rave reviews from his latest Psy-Trance demo, it’s only natural to get excited and sing the praises of the Godfather of Puzzle-Project, Phil Lankester (AKA Mad Phil). Expect nothing short of technical bliss as our #1 resident makes the sound system sing to us all!
Gordon Darley seems to have been a tad quiet of late in terms of playing out, but he has been using this time to great effect, redefining and fine-tuning his sound. Still staying close to his techno roots with the groove, he has started to edge towards a slightly more “hard dance” recently, and will be kick-starting a new era in his Djing career upon this very night…
We all love that cheeky chappy that is Ben Bennett. And he’s going to give us even more reasons to do so with his latest collection of studio gems. He’s been a very busy boy recently what with taking over Impact Recordings, and many, many studio sessions creating both new tracks and remixes galore!! We’ve heard one of his latest efforts with Gordon Darley in the shape of an absolutely storming remix of the classic hard house track “The Beginning” by Dean Peters and The Edison Factor!!
In between running every marathon under the sun, Matt Church, as well all know, is a dream resident, being able to play any time of night. One of the original Puzzlers, Matt has been seen recently playing regularly at Frantic events among others, which is a fine testament to his skills.
