Matt Church is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the heroes of the UK underground dance music scene. In an illustrious career that already spans well over a decade, Matt has seen, done and achieved just about everything he ever wanted.
The man responsible for bringing you some of the finest events and parties the UK has seen, including Swamp, the legendary System Free parties and more recently Puzzle Project @ Club 414, which has been gathering interest from all over the UK for its electric party atmosphere and the best DJs that the scene has to offer, has made Matt one of the cornerstones of everything that makes the music, the people and the clubbing scene so great.
With his imitable style of uplifting yet tough Trance making him a firm crowd favourite over the years, Matt has earned plenty of plaudits after witnessing his seamless mixing and impeccable tune selection. His versatility is also one of his strong points, with his Breaks sets causing a healthy stir on the floor of the 414 recently.
After making his London debut with the launch of Swamp, he has since gone on to rock the foundations of just about every club our nations capital has to offer, including the likes of the Brixton Academy, Bagleys, The Scala, The Fridge and Fire to name a few, and playing alongside the cream of the international DJ talent on offer at the same time.
Outside of London, Matt has sourced gigs all over the UK and indeed the world, and has taken him to places such as Ibiza to Vietnam, or Thailand and even Australia, having rocked some of the biggest events going along the way, including Frantic, Antiworld and HHA to name but a few. With residencies over the years including Swamp, Puzzle Project, Just Groove, System, London Live and Direct, Obsession, and 4 Play, It’s safe to say that Matt was and still is one of the most in demand DJs around. Also a former stalwart of the Radio scene, Matt has held no less than 5 residencies for radio stations over the years, the biggest of which was London Live and Direct, every Sunday, which he held for a number of years.
But Matt is far more than just your average DJ. Not content with just DJ’ing, he founded Hooked On records, online record store and music portal. More recently however, as well as tirelessly promoting Puzzle Project, Matt has been busy in the studio with production partner Kevin Shepherd, with their most recent track being signed to Essential Records, with remixes from Steve Morley & Jesscia B. With much more planned for the immediate and the distant future, this is one DJ who will still make a big noise on the dance scene for many years to come!!
