Puzzle Project – 22/05/2010
April saw another cracking Puzzle Project party, with top notch sets from our guests Mark Day, BSE and of course our trusty residents taking the roof off the 414. For this month’s party we’ve decided to unleash a little May-hem on the Puzzle faithful, with what we’re sure you’ll agree is one terribly tempting line up…
Nick Sentience
Our headliner guest will be well known to most of you. Nick has been one of the underground dance scene’s foremost and most exciting producers and DJs for well over a decade. Not only responsible for many of the truly genre defining hard dance tracks through the years, as a DJ Nick’s spent the last 10 years rocking sell out parties across the globe. Nick’s star looks set to keep rising in 2010. His tech trance releases ‘Electrifiy’ and ‘Meridian’ on the mighty Reset imprint won the support of some of the world’s top trance DJs, becoming permanent features in their CD wallets. Nick has also recently formed a studio partnership with none other than Simon Patterson, perhaps the trance scene’s most exciting DJ and producer – expect some tasty collaborations in the near future! If that weren’t enough Nick has also taken the reins at legendary psy label Transient and we’re sure that with such an impeccable tastemaker at the helm its future success is assured. Nick’s set at Puzzle is not to be missed – expect stacks of unreleased and exclusive tracks and a mind bending selection of trance, tech and psy, all blended with Nick’s customary technical wizardry.
Nikki S
Our next headliner was an easy booking to make. Since exploding onto the scene with residencies at Innovation and Extreme Euphoria Nikki has continued to impress clubbers and promoters alike with her inimitable DJ style. Her sound is psy – hard, filthy and fast! Nikki has played alongside some of the psychedelic scene’s true superstars, sharing line ups with Infected Mushroom, Astrix and Eskimo and has proved more than capable of holding her own in such exalted company. Come along on the 22nd and you’ll see why she’s one of the most exciting and exilhirating DJs on the London scene today!
Rebecca Sofia
This month we also welcome trance up and comer Rebecca Sofia. Rebecca has recently been making waves with a series of successful and well received releases on some of the trance scene’s biggest labels. Her two latest releases on Abstract, ‘Paligenesis’ and ‘Ananda’, have won big name support and scored number 1 positions in various trance charts, she’s collaborated in the studio with Ben Nicky and has further releases lined up on Monster and Red Sky Digital amongst others. She also hosts a massively popular radio show on none other than Slinky FM. We’re sure that Rebecca is going to be huge, and are certain the Puzzle crowd will go wild for her scintillating blend of euphoric tech trance!
Matt Church
The first resident to join our guests this month is Puzzle Project co-founder Matt Church. His Red Sky Digital imprint continues to go from strength to strength, with the recent launch of his ‘NuBreed’ label and big name support from some of the scene’s top DJs, including DJ Kutski who gave Red Sky release ‘The Loft’ a thorough airing on his BBC Radio 1 show. Puzzle regulars know they’re in store for a euphoric ride through trance in all its forms whenever he plays and this month’s set will be no exception.
Phil Lankester
Phil’s DJ profile has continued to soar throughout 2010. With gigs all over London, including his residency at Halcyon, the undisputed top dog of London psy parties, and festival bookings lined up for the summer (Sunrise, Symmetry) Phil looks set to continue to delight legions of fans with his heady psychedelic brew of dirt, drive and pure technical skills! You can be sure of a mind blowing set each time you see him rock the dance floor at his spiritual home, his residency at Puzzle Project.
Gordon Darley
Hard dance resident Gordon will be providing the harder edged beats for this months party. Gordon will be well known to many as one of London’s prime sources of funky, chunky hard house and for this May’s party he’ll be pulling out all the stops to pump things up as only he can.
LK
Completing this month’s line is LK, one third of Puzzle’s resident trance team. With eclectic musical tastes, ranging from progressive, through uplifting trance and tech trance to funky techno, and an impressive array of skills behind the decks LK is sure to keep up his reputation for pure quality this month.
There’s no excuses – make sure you don’t miss London’s biggest small party!
